FAQs

Is your studio just for women?

No, in fact we have a growing number of male clients in all of our classes who claim that our workouts have kept them strong and conditioned for other activities they enjoy like running or weight lifting.

What is your cancellation policy? What if I have an emergency?

To avoid late cancel fees, please cancel any bookings that you can’t make at least 12 hours ahead of class time. Anything less than 12 hours will incur a $15 late fee for equipment classes and $25 for non-equipment classes and will be billed to the credit card on file. If you think you were charged in error, please contact the studio front desk for assistance. We do understand life happens, so we provide every member with four “comped” late cancels per contract should you ever feel under the weather, have vehicle trouble, get stuck in traffic, etc.

What is the waitlist?

If a class is fully booked, you can put yourself onto the waitlist. As people cancel or move class, you will be automatically added in the order you signed up and notified via the email address provided. It is assumed that if you are waitlisted that you can attend the class. If you are no longer able to attend, please remember to cancel yourself out of the waitlist.

I’m a new client. What’s the drill?

Please arrive 20 minutes before your class start time so you can get checked in, take a quick tour, and complete your liability waiver. Please note although our address is on City Park Avenue, the entrance to the studio faces Toulouse Street. When you arrive, check in at the front desk. Your instructor will ask you questions about any old injuries, sensitive spots or conditions so we can be sure to make necessary modifications.

Parking

It’s no secret that parking in New Orleans isn’t the highlight of anyone’s day, fortunately, we have plenty of parking available. Street parking on Toulouse Street (facing studio entrance) is on a first-come, first-serve basis. To avoid being ticketed, avoid blocking driveways or fire hydrants. There are two lined parking lots available. One facing City Park Avenue in front of MoPho restaurant. If using this lot, please be sure not to park in the spots reserved specifically for other businesses. There is an additional fenced parking lot in the rear of the facility, on North Bernadotte Street. Both are well lit for early morning and evening classes.

Do class package expire?

Yes, all packages expire 6 months from the date of purchase.

What should I bring to class?

We’ve got your back! Mats and equipment is supplied by the studio at no additional charge to you. We do require sticky/grip socks for our Pilates and Xtend Barre classes. You are welcome to bring your own, and they are also available for purchase in the retail section of our studio. Sneakers are recommended for HIIT, LIIT & TRX classes. A water bottle is also a good idea. A water dispenser is available near the front desk.

Can I still workout if I have injuries?

As long as your doctor has cleared you to work out, you should be ok. Before class begins, be sure to make the instructor aware of any limitations you have so he/she can provide modifications. The Pilates reformer is actually frequently used within a rehab setting for athletes, individuals recovering from trauma or even for the treatment of neuromuscular disorders in children and adults.

I’m pregnant (or) I just had a baby. Are your workouts ok for me?

Congratulations! We invite mamas-to-be of all levels and stages of pregnancy. The majority of our classes are prenatal appropriate as we are able to offer modifications to keep you and your baby safe. However, please have your doctor’s consent before joining us. New mamas (postpartum) may start after 6-weeks postpartum with a doctor’s consent.

Do I have to be coordinated or have prior dance training to take Xtend Barre?

Absolutely not. This class will actually help improve your coordination. Our certified instructors teach a multi-level class to challenge bodies of any age, gender or fitness background and all exercises can be modified for beginners, pre-natal clients, injured clients, but can also be amplified for advanced clients looking for an extreme challenge.

What is involved in the complimentary 30-minute private Pilates session? Is it just a consultation, or am I going to get a workout?

It is a consultation with a certified instructor and also a workout. During the session, the instructor will assess your specific body needs and personal goals and begin to teach you the fundamentals of Pilates. Because it is new, you will be working slowly, but it is challenging. After the session, the instructor will make a recommendation for your next steps.

What is required in order to schedule group Pilates classes?

We ask that clients complete at least 3 privates at our studio before being permitted to enter our group classes. This is to ensure you can execute exercises in a safe manner and are comfortable with the equipment.
